It wins their test outright, and it wins this guide for a more specific reason: flat lids. In a fridge where vertical space is the constraint, a set you can stack three deep when full is worth more than one with marginally better seals. It has both — latch lids with attached gaskets, which was the other thing that separated the good sets from the leaky ones.

What actually matters
Square and rectangular, not round. Round containers waste the space between them. In a small fridge, switching to square is a bigger capacity gain than buying anything larger.
Whether they stack when full. Many sets stack empty, for the shop shelf, and have lids too domed to stack once loaded. This is the most common disappointment.
Seal type. Four-clip lids with a gasket seal properly and are bulkier. Push-on lids are slimmer and leak. If containers travel in a bag, the clips are worth the space.
Glass against plastic. Glass does not stain, does not hold smells, and goes in the oven. It is heavy and it breaks. Plastic is light and will eventually look tired. Neither is simply better.
